Notes from Health Care Innovations 2010

Monday July 12, 2010 | No Comments

Georgette recently attended the Health Care Innovations conference alongside 500 other health care industry professionals in the Pittsburgh region. The conference allowed various professionals to engage in a trade discussion inspired by the region’s medical IT expertise, including common industry goals, healthcare IT integration, and a nod to new products in eye care.

With a common goal of 2015 for paperless patient care, several presentations predicted the growth of electronic health records (EHR) practices through continued medical device development and integration. Citing an adoption rate of EHR that doubled in past two years, researchers and manufacturers alike are eager to explore the data and feedback from new users.

Disease prevention was also a major player in the day’s agenda– as healthcare IT integration for genomic features will allow earlier disease detection toward a goal of genetic disease prevention. Finally, discussions turned to a new biometric contact lens currently in development; the device will monitor and store all health measurements! PC will keep a close ‘eye’ on more news concerning these new lenses.

Friday July 2, 2010 | No Comments

While the holiday weekend has kicked off for some, our public relations team is debriefing from a busy week and putting the final touches on materials for our upcoming trip to Southern California.

PC’s Georgette, Allison, and Deb depart early in the week for California, where they will meet with clients and partners across the region. With a significant portion of our clients in the area, our trips to California are typically packed with activity, and the coming week will be no exception – We can’t wait to see you all!

Our consumer press pro, Audra Friis, is also leading a stellar new campaign for a Pittsburgh pharmaceutical company. Familiar with outlets from the Today Show to the Wall Street Journal, Audra is looking forward to applying her widespread experience to tackle this new project.

Finally, PC would like to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July – Our team is excited for a long weekend with friends and family, BBQs, and of course fireworks!
